Types of Life Groups
Community Group
Objective: To form authentic relationships with others and to grow in a relationship with Christ.
Format: These groups are our groups with the most impact. Within them followers of Christ grow, mature and develop life-long, lasting relationships. Curriculum is chosen by group leader.
Who: Anyone interested in spiritual growth and authentic relationships.
Timeframe: year round (excluding holiday seasons) meeting every week.
Number of people in groups: 5-10
Starting Pointe
Objective: To orientate spiritual seekers, new believers and those returning back to church with the essentials of the Christian faith.
Format: Set curriculum.
Who: Spiritual seekers, new believers and those returning back to church.
Timeframe: Group meets 8 consecutive weeks.
Number of people in groups: 6+
Life Interest Groups
Objective: To connect with other people at South Pointe Church through a shared interest or station in life. (i.e.; financial help, divorce recovery, parenting help, celebrate recovery)
Format: Curriculum optional, decided by group leader.
Who: Anyone
Timeframe: varied times, monthly.
Number of people in groups: 5-10
Affinity Groups
Objective: To connect people in relationship at South Pointe Church through a shared special interest or hobby. (i.e.; softball, motorcycling, football, skiing, snowboarding, hiking, running, fitness, painting, scrap-booking, hunting, quilting, fishing, reading...you get the idea! )
Format: These groups are just plain fun!
Who: Anyone.
Timeframe: Affinity Groups form for as little as once a year or continue indefinitely.
Number of people in group: unlimited
